getting your reading group on wobble.
everything from setting up a small group, to handing pupils their code, to what they actually do in the app. about ten minutes of setup in total.
1. set up your reading group
the teacher dashboard is a separate website to the pupil app. you sign in there, your participating pupils sign in on wobble itself.
- 1
tell us about your school
fill in the short form on the schools page with your school name, your name and a school email address. no card, no IT ticket.
- 2
we set your school up
within one to two school days we create your school and email you a link to the wobble teacher dashboard along with your pilot code.
- 3
create your teacher account
open the link, enter the school code and pick a username and password. your reading group is created at the same time.
- 4
name your group and places
name the reading-support group and set how many pupils are taking part. the rest of the school does not need an account.
2. what you do in the dashboard
the dashboard keeps goals, messages and progress together without taking over a pupil's reading.
your group
the participating pupils, with reading time, books and activity today.
raised hands
a pupil can raise a hand from their screen. tap it when you've helped and their screen clears.
reading timers
see how much time each pupil has spent reading toward today’s goal.
reading goals
set a daily reading target for the group, with an individual goal when one pupil needs it.
books in progress
see which books pupils are reading and how far they have reached.
insights
reading time, chapters finished, tricky words, comprehension scores, streaks and paired reading recordings.
3. give your pupils the sign up code
your dashboard shows a six-digit pupil sign-up code for the group. give it only to the pupils taking part.
what a pupil does
- go to wobble.ink and tap sign up.
- type the six digit code from the board.
- choose a username and password. there is no email and no verification link, so nobody gets stuck waiting on an inbox they can't open.
- they land straight in the app with full school access, and they appear in your reading-group list.
the code only lets in as many pupils as your school has places for. once they're all taken, the next pupil is told to ask you. if a pilot ends, pupils are told their school access has finished rather than losing their work.
4. how pupils use wobble
each book follows the same five-step journey. complete it and the next chapter opens.
scan the book
photograph pages, upload a file, paste text or choose a free classic. wobble organises the text into a book and chapters.
read with wobble
hear the chapter with character voices while each word lights up. tap any word for its meaning and syllables.
paired reading
wobble reads a line, the pupil reads the next one out loud. wobble listens and marks the words that were tricky. no adult needed to sit beside them.
tricky words
the words they stumbled on come back as a short sorting game with the word read aloud, so they meet each one again in a calm way.
comprehension
three short questions and a retell check understanding. finishing the journey earns XP and unlocks the next chapter.
5. the support that runs underneath
settings that follow them
text size, colours, reading speed, focus line and sound layer save to the pupil, on any device they sign into.
free device voices
pupils can read with their device's own voices at no credit cost, or use wobble's studio and ai voices.
the help button
a small floating button on every screen explains the page and can read it aloud.
their class tab
pupils see today's reading goal, a reading timer, your messages and the raise hand button.
we'll set the first group up with you.
if a code isn't working, a pupil can't sign in, or you'd like us to walk the group through their first read, get in touch and we'll answer the same day.
